ABOUT ME

My journey in education began over 20 years ago in the classroom. Working with children from Early Years up to Key Stage 4, I had the privilege of teaching young people with a diversity of needs—including Autism (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Global Developmental Delay, and Deafblindness.

In the classroom, I learned that standard, one-size-fits-all education rarely works for unique learners. To truly unlock a child’s potential, I trained in specialist communication and learning frameworks, mastering evidence-based programs like Attention Autism, TEACCH, Precision Teaching, PECS, and the Social Use of Language Program (SULP).

However, as I moved into senior leadership—serving as an Assistant Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at a special school for over a decade—I realised that academic success is impossible without emotional security. I saw firsthand that young people cannot learn until they feel safe, understood, and emotionally regulated.

Driven by a desire to support the whole child, I expanded my expertise into the therapeutic space. I qualified as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) and spent four years helping young people learn to understand and control their emotions. To deepen this support, I earned a Diploma in Play Therapy, a Certificate in Applied Therapeutic Skills, and became a member of The Complementary Medical Association.

I also came to see that when a child is struggling, the whole family feels the impact. Parents often feel lost under the immense weight of paperwork and school bureaucracy. To become a better ally for parents, I qualified as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) in 2019, mastering the complex legal frameworks of the EHCP system. I also qualified as a Life Coach and an NLP Master Practitioner, giving me the tools to help both parents and pupils set clear goals, build resilience, and overcome hurdles.

Today, as an independent consultant, I bring all of these worlds together. I specialise in supporting families whose children are Educated Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS). I act as your trusted advisor and advocate, creating bespoke education plans, training the providers who work with your child, and managing the vital, joined-up communication with external agencies.

My mission is simple: to combine my 20+ years of educational leadership with deep therapeutic care, ensuring your child is safe, happy, and receiving the exact education they deserve.
